In a video posted on his social media page, Momota suggested: “Wash your hands frequently, and rinse your mouth, try to avoid non-essential travel and social contact.”

“We all should have certain level of self-awareness to reduce the spread of the virus,” added Momota.

Momota has not play in any tournaments since he was involved in a fatal car accident in January in Malaysia where the driver of the vehicle was killed at the scene. After Momota got back to Japan, he was diagnosed with an eye socket fracture and underwent an eye surgery to treat his right eye injury he sustained in the car crash.
